Oral manifestations of the HIV virus: a case report

ABSTRACT

Oral manifestations caused by the human immunodeficiency virus are often the first indication that the person is infected and often an indicator of its progression into AIDS. Painless ulcers, assorted types of aggressive gingivitis, and hairy leukoplakia develop easily in individuals whose immune system is compromised, such as those infected with HIV.
