ABSTRACT

Crossed testicular ectopia is a rare congenital abnormality, is a derivation of testicular descent resulting in unilateral location of both testes, usually associated with an inguinal hernia in the side of the two testes. This entity was first described by Von Lenhossek in 1886 and posteriorly by Halstead in 1907. Since then, there have been described less than a sixty of cases of this rare congenital malformation. We report a case of crossed testicular ectopia in 42 years old man presented exploration through a right inguinal incision two testes were found in the right hemiescrotum. The precise etiology has remained unclear, the gubernaculum appears to play role in the process of testicular descent it is likely that the final position of the gonada is dependent of gubernaculum.
