ABSTRACT

This paper outlines the conditions of tension and fold between the imaginary order and the experience of body this does not subscribe fully to the ideal of obedience and servitude that the “Ego” proposes in his role of domain and power. It may appear a docile body with the mandate of the master, but also a body that is not true and that betrays the self, even in the decisive moments of its historicity. Anorexia, bulimia, cutting into the body, is a counterpoint to an effort that dates back to mysticism to tame stubborn body. The subject finds in the body that other with whom to compare their questions, uncertainties and dissatisfactions in the field of desire and love. This paper, which is a partial research product, attempts to account for this persevering aim of subjecting the body to an image of perfection that borders degradation.
