ABSTRACT

The sexual behavior of the men, before, during and after the pregnancy, it has been studied, which has not happened with their previous learnings, experiences and significances that originated it. The aim was to analyze the trajectory of loving and sexual life that leads the males to the first pregnancy. Six married adults, nowadays grandparents, who lived with the couple during the first pregnancy that involved them, took part. They were interviewed, and the interviews were recorded and transcribed. It was done an analysis of the content of the statements of the participants. According with the findings, the fecund coital act happened after males and their spouses achieved certain physiological and psychosocial conditions. The origin of the pregnancy suggested the integration of previous learnings, experiences and significances (social, loving and sexual ones) of the men. All these took place into sociocultural contexts that are regulated, concrete and full of differences and intergeneric inequities about topics of sexuality, reproduction and contraception, where they played active and peculiar roles, of existential, moral and affective importance.
