ABSTRACT
Dentigerous cysts are epithelial-lined cavities on its inner liquid content, semi solid and connective tissue on the outside. Generated by enamel epithelium containing remains of the sheet dental, slow growth impacted teeth involves displacement of adjacent teeth.
Objectives: Knowing the dentigerous cysts in pediatric patients in a series of 15 consecutive and diagnosed patients treated surgically in a tertiary level hospital.
Methodology: A prospective, observational, longitudinal series of cases followed for a period of time.
Results: The dentigerous cysts was in the first decade of life. Finding a ratio of 10:5 in men versus women, age ranged from 6 to 15 years associated with the first premolar in the mandible and maxilla prior alteration with chronic carious teeth infectious.
Conclusion: Inflammation of follicles generated permanent teeth primary teeth, could be a factor that stimulates the dental follicle epithelium, thus forming a dentigerous cyst, it is also important to note that the clinical absence of teeth permanent in the pediatric patient should be of clinical and radiographic studies where discard the presence of cystic origin injury as it is one of the most common causes in this population.
