ABSTRACT

Supernumerary teeth are diagnosed through radiographic exams since they are generally asymptomatic. Fourth molars represent the second group of the most frequent supernumerary teeth. The aim of this paper is to comment on the case of a patient admitted to the Maxillofacial Surgery service from the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Medical Sciences in Villa Clara; where a physical examination was made, as well as, auxiliary diagnostic means were used, such as preoperative laboratory testing, and extraoral, occlusal and periapical radiographs. Surgical treatment was performed two times, with an interval of fifteen days, and the patient evolved favourably.
