Evaluation of the level of development of the skills in the technical and professional formation in Nursing

ABSTRACT

Introduction: evaluation of learning is a regulator mechanism of the teaching–Learning process; it favors the feedback of the process and allows the direction of actions for the quality of the resulting product.
Objective: to evaluate the level of development of the skills in the technical and professional formation in Nursing and its relation with the levels of incorporation to the career and with the university unit where the student was formed.
Method: a pedagogical investigation was performed. The study universe was integrated by the results of all the 246 State Tests applied in the first Final tests at Mayabeque Faculty of Medical Sciences. An indicator of development of skills was used with its corresponding scale to evaluate the Spearman development and correlation to determine the relation between variables.
Results: the 92.6% of the examined students passed the tests. Thirteen students did not pass the first moment and three in the second one. Most of the difficulties were in the abilities of sanitary education and evaluation of the care plans.
Conclusions: the development of the skills was not homogenous in all the units. The relation between the development of the skills with the level of incorporation and the university unit where the students were formed was confirmed.
