Treatment of anal incontinence by means of integral rehabilitation of the pelvic floor. Case presentation

ABSTRACT

The anal incontinence is the impossibility of slowing voluntarily the one step of the intestinal content through the ano, until the moment in can be made evacuation; originated by different causes, it is increased with the age and the social cost is not still studied, because can cause an important deficit in the quality of the patient's life. The treatment can be conservative y/o surgical. The conservative intervention littler is use direct to the training of the muscles of the pelvic floor. We report the case of a 29 years old woman, operated in three opportunities, with anal water-pipe and she left as sequel total anal incontinence. We was applied treatment with local magnetotherapy, stimulate electrotherapy and exercises of pelvic floor. It was achieved the continence and social reinsertion.
