Surgical removal of mandibular torus: case report

ABSTRACT

Introduction. The term torus hos latín origin, which meons "be out" or "bulge". The multifoctoriol etiology is more widely recognized. lt does not require treatment unless it is oversized, alter function, use of prostheses or cause trauma ofthe surfaceosulceration. Clinical case. 64-Yeor-old mole patient attends presentad discomfort by ulceration ond occosionol bleeding os o result of the trauma with chewing food. The treatment plan was by means of surgicol su rgery with rotating i nstruments. Conclusions. The torus was completely removed. The recovery of the patient not present complications and was observed o good heoling in the areo.
