ABSTRACT

A case of a patient with alcoholic addiction diagnosed with an alcoholic addiction is presented and admitted to the service of the "Luis Ramirez López" Psychiatric Hospital of Guantanamo from January to December 2015, taken by the relatives to begin the process of rehabilitation. With the consent of the patient, it was possible to determine the need for specialized help to improve the style and quality of life, increased knowledge about the damage caused by alcohol as well as the risk factors that led to being a dependent. Access to knowledge of medical aid programs such as: group of psychotherapy, which offers the possibility of exchanging opinions and acquiring tools to deal with alcoholism, reduces the probability of relapses and enables them to elevate their mood, self-esteem and control of emotions with new psychological resources to face his problem becoming a more promoter in the fight against alcoholism.
