ABSTRACT

A retrospective study was done on the behavior of cardiac abnormalities detected prenatally in Guantanamo province from 2013 to 2014. The universe was comprised of 37 cases. Variables were studied: congenital heart disease, age, causes no interruption and associated alterations. The diagnosis of congenital heart disease was confirmed in 34 cases. Heart disease mentioned most frequently during these two years were the interventricular communication followed by the common trunk and the atrioventricular canal. The most common age group in both years was between 19 and 29 years. In 2013 only 52.9 % wanted interruption of couples and in 2014 increased significantly. In both periods the correlation prenatal / diagnostic findings at necropsy was satisfactory. The data correspond to those reported by national and foreign authors.
