ABSTRACT

The aim of this paper was to describe theoretical categories over the gender concept, based on the review of scientific papers on psychology in Latin America and the Caribbean between 1990 and 2014. For this matter a database search were made, also in psychology magazines. The present work were made over the qualitative- quantitative methodology, in a non experimental design of transversal cut. The results shows that Colombia (on the first place), followed by Chile, Cuba and Argentina on most productivity. Costa Rica, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Paraguay and Brasil with less productivity. The beginning of the gender word inclusion on psychology production, is between 2006 and 2010 with a 36% and between 2011 and 2013 with a 33%. The most used categories are gender differences and gender identity. This work shows the urgent need to investigate, to make nets and investigation lines on gender psychology, given that the contexts and situations of everyday are marked by inequality, power relationships, besides the women and men inclusion on different society spaces.
