ABSTRACT

Comprehensive geriatric assessment (CGA) is a validated instrument in geriatrics that has been proposed in the elderly adult patient with cancer. It represents a standardized comprehensive assessment that includes the assessment of comorbidities, functional, emotional, cognitive and social status. There is evidence that CGA improves functional status, reduces the risk of hospitalization and has an impact on survival. When performing this intervention in these patients, it has an impact in terms of improving the care of the elderly with cancer, defining risks and providing support to other specialties for decision-making regarding their treatment.
