Performance protocol of the Thera Trainer equipment in disorders of balance, posture and march of aged man

ABSTRACT

The preservation of the march is an essential requirement for a satisfactory ageing because the alterations in this sense limit the activity for a loss of an independent ambulation, increasing the morbidity and dependence, factor that contributes to the institutionalization and admission in old age home. The Thera Trainer equipment’s are devices that allow reeducating the balance, mobility and the training in the daily activities. They count with software for the development of evaluative und therapeutic procedures. The elevated frequency of the disorders of the motor functions in the aged man, that bring as consequence the increase of falls in this age-group, and the inexistence of enough publicized studies about the advanced technologies applied in the geriatric patient aroused the interest of the authors in the realization of the present investigation, because it, a protocol of acting with the objective of prove, document and standardize the procedures in the use of this technologic procedure was made. The experimental, prospective and longitudinal study was used as method in aged men, affected with disorders of balance, posture and marches during the period between January 2016 to January 2017 and go to the Julio Díaz Hospital of Rehabilitation, Center of National Reference. Conclusions: the acting’s protocol contributes to improve the functional capacity and the autonomy of the geriatric patient, which allow a better familiar and social return.
