ABSTRACT

At the present time we attend a quick and alarming increment of the Diabetes mellitus type 2 in children and adolescents, what has determined that it is considered a true epidemic. We show the case of a 14 year-old female patient, black skin, obese, with diagnosis of Diabetes Mellitus type 2, as well as narcolepsy antecedents. The patient presented increase of the appetite, of the ingestion of water, of the dream and presence of cloudy urines. A glycaemia of urgencies was done verifying values of 7.2 mmol/L. In consequence to the clinical characteristics and the carried out exams was put treatment with oral hipoglycaemiants being observed clinical improvement.
