ABSTRACT

Prosthetic rehabilitation is necessary when teeth loss occurs; this constitutes an unphysiological, mechanical aggression, that can cause lesions like denture stomatitis and its chronic reactions can generate proliferative phenomena; as a result, a study was carried out in elderly patients with dental prosthesis who are seen at La Paragua Dental Clinic, Heres municipality, Bolívar State, Venezuela in order to identify this affection, according to gender and age, the most common grade in which it is presented and main risk factors associated with it.
