ABSTRACT

A descriptive, cross-sectional study was carried out at “Juan Bruno Zayas“ dentistry clinic from Cifuentes municipality, Villa Clara province, between May, 2014 and May, 2015 with the objective of characterizing acute pulp diseases in patients of both genders aged 12 years or over with permanent dentition who were suffering from acute pulpitis. Sample was integrated by 312 people. Disease frequency and the main causes that originated it were studied. The most common acute pulpitis in Cifuentes were irreversible ones, specifically transient pulpitis caused by dental caries in men aged 35-59 years.
