ABSTRACT

Introduction: Advisorship involvement is a collective construction that always takes place in meetings, aiming for the preceptor in that meeting to operate as a mediator and facilitator between the student and the user of services. Objective: Present the meanings of advisorship under multi-professional residence in health for HIV/AIDS outpatient consultations in a university hospital. Methods: Qualitative, descriptive approach, the ethnographic based on the theoretical framework by Edgar Morin. The participants in this study were the teachers, preceptors and residents who participate in charity and education activities in that service for HIV/IADS out-patients at the Hospital on the screen, located on the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, who were active in the regular academic period defined for data collection. Results: Among the meanings of advisorship we found: supervising and guiding the residents, promoting the interchange of knowledge, teaching and the learning process, and the dialog between education and health care. Conclusion: In line with Edgar Morin's thinking, both of us residents and profesional trainers must join together against the fragmentation, in order to integrate praxis and theory and construct real possibilities to meet the health needs of the population.
