ABSTRACT

Research in Dentistry allows a practice based on evidence for the establishment of clinical diagnosis, improve prognosis and prescribe appropriate treatments. Stomatological generate problems. In Mexico the scientific community is evaluated and endorsed by the National Research System (SNI), this award symbolizes the quality and prestige of scientific contributions. Objectives: To describe to the odontologist the specialty in research and the institutions where it can be exercised. Methodology: The process was to develop a database that would include all members of the National System of Researchers of Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología (CONACYT) in 2016 using descriptive frequency analysis. Results: The percentage of dental researchers, is low in the group of researchers led generally to the field of health sciences. The production of knowledge based on evidence is key to ensuring the effectiveness and quality of care to oral health, providing training and updating of appropriate and relevant professional point.
