ABSTRACT

Introduction: Disorders of sex development are pathologies characterized by an atypical differentiation of chromosomal, gonadal or phenotypical sex, that can be or not with an intersexual state. Objective: A case report of a patient with an ovotesticular disorder of sex development. Case report: 20 years old "male" patient is admitted at the hospital for gynecomastia. On physical examination, poor develop of secondary sexual male characteristics was observed, an interscrotal hypoplastic penis and hypospadias. Right scrotum was empty, and the left testicle in the scrotum´s root. His psychological sex was male, and was self‐conscious about gynecomastia. His studies suggest: karyotype (46, XX) and showed female DNA with SRY gen. For complete his studies and to keep the male desired gender of the patient, also checked by psychological tests were made: gonadal biopsy and left gonadectomy by laparoscopic procedures, bilateral mastectomy, Snodgrass uretroplasty, right testicular prosthesis, and left orquidopexy combined with testosterone hormonal therapy (Enantato de Testosterona).
