ABSTRACT

Mycoplasma pneumoniae has been linked to diverse dermatological conditions of which Steven Johnson is the most severe. Over the last years, cases associated to this microorganism which display distinctive characteristics have been registered in the literature. This has led some authors to propose a separate condition from the EM- SSJ/NET spectrum, with clinical and prognostic differences, which they have called Mycoplasma Induced Rash and Mucositis (MIRM). We will present a case exemplifying this condition and we will expand on the clinical characteristics of the Mycoplasma-induced mucocutaneous lesions.
