ABSTRACT

Honor to whom honor deserves. After the recently con-cluded Memorial Workshop of Cardio-Surgical Sciences Dr. Ismael Alejo in Memoriam, we wanted to honor this extraordinary professor, who has been an example for several generations of cardiovascular surgeons and will continue to be for the coming years. Ismael Alejo Mena (1933-2007) pioneered cardiovascular surgery in our province. This article describes some aspects of interest in his professional career.
