ABSTRACT
Background: The preservation of cultural patrimony has played an important role in the technical and scientific development in Cuba that is why it is a need to rescue and maintain the history of publications that spread the results of scientific research updated. Objective: To value the course of the Journal of Medical Sciences December 3 in the socialization of scientific results belonging to health sciences in Sancti Spiritus. Methodology: A documental analysis was carried out to get evidences and conduct a tendency and historical analysis of the magazine. Conclusion: It constituted a substantial antecedent for the development of scientific publishing in medical sciences in Sancti Spiritus. National and international exchange enriched the documental background of medical libraries in the territory and a new knowledge with it.
