ABSTRACT

A revision of the fundamental aspects is developed, in the diagnosis of the sarcopenia and its relationship with the fragility. And the utility of an approach to the diagnosis of the sarcopenia to carry out primary or secondary prevention in the biggest population of patients, where the determination of the index of skeletal muscular mass (IMME) it is an accessible method for their use in the clinical practice, besides including other demographic variables, of function and physical, as the force of manual pressure and the speed of the march that allow to implement strategies for the handling of the patient with sarcopenia or in risk of developing it, diminishing costs and hospital complications associated to this.
