ABSTRACT

The present investigation allowed us to focus on the cultural practises of a group of women of more than 40 years old in the municipality of Bayamo who have found new scenaries of and forms of interaction and public relations in familiar and individual intercourses through the symbolic appropiation of the contents found in the radio show En Antena of Radio Bayamo. This work is the first attempt to make a characterisation of the socio cultural profile of this audience. It allowed us to discern new spaces and daily cultural practices structured in the context of a community for which listening to the radio is a cultural practise as such. The investigation permited the analysis of a group of cultural realities and processes from a communitary point of view so that they are mediating factors to this audience at the time of receiving the product. It gives us a panorama to understand the appropiation of the meanings given to cultura through the programs. At last we could affect a considerable vulnerable group of women with the information they rewired according to their needs.
