ABSTRACT

Introduction: in the current Cuban context there is no model that has an integrating approach from the perspective of medical-legal assistance, which through the interrelation of knowledge of the sciences, specialties and disciplines involved in the prevention of homicide, provide a powerful tool for its prevention. Objective: as a solution to this scientific problem, the present investigation has as novelty that the identification of the risk factors in deaths due to homicide, allowed to design a heteroaggressive risk profile. Methods: Through a case-control study during 2013, 115 homicide victims were investigated, establishing a control group with the same number of deaths due to natural death, selected using the simple random sampling method. The Integrated Psychological Autopsy Model (MAPI) was applied to both groups, calculating the Odss ratio to determine risk factors and a multiple logistic regression using the SPSS statistical system to obtain the heteroaggressive risk profile. Results: The risk factors associated to the homicidal behavior were identified and with the results of the equation an instrument for the evaluation of the risk of being a homicide victim was presented. Conclusions: Finally, conclusions are offered that guide future studies in order to contribute to the prevention of homicide.
