Implementation of a Web application for the module of surgical service through BEHIQUE system

ABSTRACT

Introduction: as part of the gradual computerization of Cuban society, the automation of health services is proposed. At Leon Cuervo Rubio Clinical Surgical Teaching Hospital, Pinar del Rio province, a few years ago the BEHIQUE system has been implemented for a better function of the primary services of patient care. The development of this clinical information system has been divided by modules, assuming the criterion of functional independence.
Objective: to implement a Web application for the surgical service module, that manages the information of the surgical service at León Cuervo Rubio Clinical Surgical Teaching Hospital, Pinar del Rio province.
Method: a technological development research is carried out which defines the implementation process of a Web application based on the information contained in the advertisement and the operative report as part of the surgical service. It also defines the technologies used for the design and implementation of the Web application.
Results: the Web application was developed using BEHIQUEsystem for the surgical service module, this application allows the computerization of the announcement and operative reports at León Cuervo Rubio Clinical Surgical Teaching Hospital.
Conclusions: this work shows how the application of this system provided by Information and Communication Technologies are used to create a functional and easy-to-use Web application that improves the management of surgical service information and facilitates the practice of surgeons.
