ABSTRACT
A bibliographical review was done on the Meckel diverticulum topic. It is an uncommon disease that usually occurs in children, asymptomatically due to congenital malformations. It dealt with aspects of its anatomy, physiology, frequency, clinical, complications, differential diagnosis and incidence. Final considerations are made.
