ABSTRACT

Postmodernism is a complex age that requires careful consideration of its impact on social structures and everyday life of any human being. This paper aims to understand the theoretical and practical implications in Special Education, specifically at home care, under a perspective that addresses the other - and us - as a conceptual pair, allowing to understand the aspects that make every human being unique and singular but at the same time belonging to a group or community. The analysis of the information is from the framework of cultural psychology, which intend to highlight and understand that "they" and "we" are being placed on individual and specific practices that are not end constructed. These theoretical considerations allow us to highlight the place of children as active social agents in their own development. In addition, we take into account the role of the professional as a reflective practitioner (Schön, 1992) in professional practice, which assume its responsibility to practice performing.
