ABSTRACT

Intermittent claudication is a problem in patients with peripheral arterial disease. This review aims to describe the knowledge about cardiovascular rehabilitation these types of patients have. This therapeutic option can improve patients' symptoms, functional limitation and prognosis. Supervised physical exercise is a cutting-edge, effective and safe therapy for patients with mild to moderate claudication. Controlling risk factors is essential for improving their vital prognosis. Rehabilitation is a therapy that includes physical training and secondary prevention as important profiles for cardiovascular diseases treatment. It increases the quality of life and reduces the risk of morbidity and mortality. Complications are uncommon.
