Analysis of the health situation of a family doctor's office

ABSTRACT

Introduction: The analysis of the health situation is an activity that distinguishes the family doctor, acting as a valuable tool in the identification and control of health problems.
Objective: To describe the analysis of the health situation in a family doctor's office.
Methods: A descriptive, cross-sectional and retrospective study was carried out in the family doctor's office # 18, belonging to the Basic Working Group 2 of Pedro Borrás Astorga University Polyclinic in the city of Pinar del Río during the year 2015, through selected indicators. The results were expressed in tables and graphs for their better understanding.
Results: The population was characterized by the preponderance of the female sex (55.6%) and the age group 60 or over (30.6%). There was a predominance of the dispensary group III (61.6%), in addition to the risk factors for smoking in men (46.4%) and sedentary lifestyle in women (46.2%). Prevalence of hypertension (31.8%) as a chronic noncommunicable disease and specific health activities. The total of consultations was 5223.
Conclusions: The analysis of the health situation of a doctor's office was described taking into account clinical and epidemiological aspects. This study enriches and extends care delivery, teaching, research and management work in the area, contributing to the strengthening of health programs and indicators.
