ABSTRACT

Maternal death is not only a record or a statistic datum to evaluate the health in a specific population as well as the way as some countries are organized, it is a catastrophic phenomenon in the stability both of the family and social principally when it can be prevented. This position article pretends to show some organizational and professional aspects to reduce and face the maternal morbidity, an important step to achieve a lower maternal death rate. It is based on the review of the best both national and international evidences and the experience of the authors in the care of these group of patients.
