Key words:

retrograde approach, suturing domes (interdomal).

ABSTRACT

The handling of the nasal tip has been recognized as one of the sequences of more complexity inside the nasal surgery, and where the goal is getting a proportionate anatomy that allows a facial harmonic relationship, the current techniques offer a wide range of surgical possibilities for the surgeon and, in the particular case of this study, the use of a retrograde approach for the handling of the nasal tip; principally in those patients where the wished correction is minimal.
OBJECTIVE
To present the technique of suture of domes (interdomal) through the retrograde approach for the handling of the wide nasal tip.
MATERIAL AND METHODS
Descriptive, observational, prospective and traversal study was done, where the results of 50 patients with rinoseptumplasty are presented. The handling of the nasal tip was carried out by an intercartilaginous incision and carrying out a retrograde dissection with suture of the nasal domes.
RESULTS We included a total of 50 patients. In 100% of the cases decreasing of the width of the nasal tip was achieved and in 100% of the cases the patients in those who the nasal domes were sutured by the retrograde approach were satisfied with the results.
CONCLUSION
Practicing the interdomal suture by retrograde approach offers a good, quick and effective way to reduce the volume of the nasal tip, with long term acceptable results and with a minimum of complications.
