ABSTRACT

Introduction: the present work bases the formative process for the strengthening of the values from the educational Project. Objective: to support the strengthening of values in the humanistic training proposal in health professionals at the University of Medical Sciences of Santiago de Cuba. Methods: different scientific instruments applied to teacher guides, other teachers, students and directors of the teaching-educational process were used in the last five-year period. In addition, different bibliographic databases were consulted (cumed, latindex and PubMed). Results: different aspects of the formation of values were identified that allow to account for the need, justification and foundation of the research. Conclusions: the Medical Humanities, their development, the integrating vision, the interdisciplinary work and the scientific and technical advances in public health have made possible the extension of the field of knowledge and application of these sciences so important for the health professions.
