ABSTRACT

The gastric carcinoid tumor comprises a broad spectrum of neoplasms arising from enterochromaffin cells in the stomach mucosa, being currently called gastric neuroendocrine tumor. Its ranking is based on tumor type 1, 2 and 3. We presented the case of a male patient who had stomach carcinoid tumor and gastrectomy candidate. Because the patient was morbidly obese, placing resistant adjustable gastric band, performing a gastric bypass as reconstruction after gastrectomy represented a definitive management for both conditions.
