ABSTRACT

A retrospective descriptive study was carried out with the objective of exposing nursing care protocol to the elderly in health institutions. Several reports and documents were reviewed reflecting care for the elderly from different perspectives of life, once the information was collected, several professionals were evaluated by the caregivers. We analyzed each of the actions to be taken into account for the care of the elderly. It was possible to establish the protocol of action that should be kept in mind during the care of the elderly in the internal centers such as the homes. These actions allow to provide specialized and quality care in each of the process that will be carried out during care by the nursing staff.
