ABSTRACT

Background: Professional upgrading to get the scientific degree of general doctor of sciences has become a need for sciences, society and specifically for health sciences in Sancti Spíritus. Objective: To potentiate postdoctoral training at the Sancti Spíritus University of Medical Sciences, thereby the scientific development of health professionals in the province. Methodology: A bibliographical revision of normative documents related to postdoctoral formation on an international level as well as a diagnosis of learning needs of all the doctors of sciences in the referred institution was carried out. Results: The direction of the postdoctoral training process and its essential functions was structured. Conclusions: The proposal can contribute to enhance the skills of the professionals.
