ABSTRACT

Introduction: The need for affection, companionship and to have someone at the time of being a mother is manifested throughout history since ancient times.
Objective: To identify the level of knowledge of Nursing graduates on Maternal and Child Program in Boyeros municipality, in the period from October to June 2014-15.
Methods: The universe consisted of 312 nursing graduates of primary and secondary health care who belong to the municipality of Boyeros. A sample of 90 nursing graduates intentionally selected. The methods and procedures used were A quantitative approach, semi-structured interviews with 30 managers were applied and 20 key informants were selected with the technical face to face, documentation Curriculum career was revised in Bachelor of Nursing Program subject and methodological Folder nursing Maternal and Child Finally methodological triangulation, which allowed to identify learning needs and level of knowledge of graduates in nursing, which was validated by a group of experts.
Results: 100 % of respondents raised the need to expand the system of Professional, through design as a form of Professional Nursing specifics.
Conclusions: the graduates' knowledge level in infirmary that they have to the work in the maternal-infantile service of the primary and secondary attention about the Maternal-infantile Program is the first floor in specific topics of the specialty.
