ABSTRACT

The mean age was of 26,3 ± 6,4 years. In the series, 14,8 % had a history of bronchial asthma and 10,9 % received artificial ventilation; also, 37,1 % were admitted due to some obstetric disease and 62,9 % due to non obstetric disorder, with a prevalence of the severe eclampsia-preclampsia (10,8 %) and the pneumonia bacterina (15,3 %), respectively. On the other hand, in 24,8 % of the sample hysterectomy was carried out and 58,4 % of it presented complications. Three patients died (1,5 %), so in this Unit the maternal morbility was remarkable and letality was low.
