ABSTRACT

Breast cancer is an uncommon neoplasia in men with less than 1% of the cases reported in this gender and of the total number of cases diagnosed. The association of this disease with women causes a low suspicion in men that can lead to misdiagnosis and mistreatment, and lead to a somber prognosis in those presenting with an advanced stage. The clinical features, diagnostic methods and treatment are similar to those in women but in general, it carries a worse prognosis because of the scarce breast tissue that allows for an early lymphatic invasion. Herein, we report two male patients with breast cancer diagnosed late, and emphasize the importance of considering this entity in men.
