ABSTRACT

Introduction: low back pain is a problem or condition that is characterized by its high prevalence in the population, this disease is of great importance with associated economic and social repercussions, as it has become one of the first causes of absence to the working day. Objective: to determine the effects of the Williams and Charriere exercises in the rehabilitation of chronic low back pain in patients treated at the Luyanó Polyclinic Rehabilitation Service during the months of May to July 2017. Methods: a quasi-clinical study was conducted experimental prospective through the use of quantitative and qualitative research methods. The bias control of the study was based fundamentally on the rigor of complying with the methodological prescriptions for the selection of patients. The study was contextualized in the Rehabilitation Service of the Luyanó Polyclinic, during the months of May to July 2017. Results: through the Williams and Charriere exercises the quality of life of the patients with chronic lumbago is improved by strengthening the lower back and the high back. Conclusions: a substantial reduction in pain intensity and improvement in almost all dimensions of the quality of life related to the health of the patients was achieved.
