ABSTRACT

Introduction: the technological procedures of cervicometry are the set of actions that the technologist performs in Imaging through the management of the biomedical technology of Ultrasound Diagnostic to evaluate the mother and her conceptional product. Objective: to identify the parameters that are evaluated in the technological procedures of cervicometry for the detection of preterm birth for the sake of the quality of life of the mother and her conceptional product. Method: a bibliographic review of printed and digital literature was carried out on Infomed websites, the google academic search engine and Medimaging in Spanish were used, obtaining 51 titles, of which 25 were analyzed, 24 of them in the last 10 years. Results: the biomedical technology must have specific characteristics to carry out the transvaginal ultrasound and the human resources in charge of its execution must have theoretical knowledge that assures an adequate decision making. Conclusions: the technological procedures of cervicometry are based on the contents of Diagnostic Ultrasound and the foundations of the Imaging, contributing to the early detection of ultrasonographic signs in the gravid cervix and in the conceptional product.
