Causes of separation or divorce in Xalapa-México

ABSTRACT

The study is developed around the main causes of divorce or separation in citizens of Xalapa, Veracruz, because its increase at state, national and international levels. This marital disunity gives rise to social, economic and psychological problems. In addition, studies of this nature that contribute to its analysis are not made. Using a quantitative methodology, a questionnaire was applied through a snowball sampling. The results are presented in a univariate, bivariate and multivariate manner. It was found that several causes of this phenomenon, the most frequent is infidelity which for women is the main, while for men incompatibility. Lack of love, incompatibility, economy, jealousy, disinterest, routine, are causes of divorce that the Civil Code of the State doesn´t consider. It is concluded that there is a dependence between the time of the relationship and the number of children, so that the longer the relationship, the greater the number of children, where the number of children depends on the degree of study of the couple, the salary and the age of both.
