ABSTRACT

Objective: To determine the cardiovascular global risk according to charts of Gaziano in hypertensive patients.
Materials and Methods: An observational and descriptive study was carried out at Medical Clinic #7 of Policlinic Manuel Fajardo, Playa municipality, Havana, from January to December of 2016. The population of the study was composed of 186 hypertensive patients, to which were applied the inclusion and exclusion approaches and being a sample of 114 patients. The primary data were obtained through a questionnaire that allowed to pick up the necessary variables for the study.
Results: The most frequent ages were among the 45-64 years of age being the masculine sex the predominant one with 64,91%. The results demonstrated that more than half of the individuals they had RCG among under (34,21%) and moderate (38,60%), 41,89% of the men showed up a cardiovascular moderate risk. The 55-64 year-old age range had risk moderated in 52,38%. The patients with diabetes were classified with high risk in 66,67%. The risk prevailed in the smoking patients of moderate to high with a 48,39 and 41,94% respectively. As for the nutritional state, the obesity was classified in a high risk in 58,62% of the patients.
Conclusions: It was demonstrated that the cardiovascular global risk was increased with the age, with the presence of diabetes mellitus, with the tabaquismo and the overweight/obesity.
