Thirty-one years ago, considering its members need to keep up to date, the Mexican Society of Anesthesiology, now Mexican College of Anesthesiology, organized the First Update Course in Anesthesiology. Throughout the years, this course has become a fundamental tool for acquiring and renewing knowledge. Successive boards, aware of their responsibility to ensure the proper practice of anesthesiology, have kept improving this key academic event.
