ABSTRACT
Non-melanoma skin cancers are the most common malignancy in Caucasians, 30% of all new cancer cases each year. The possibility of development throughout life is of 11 to 28% for basal cell carcinoma conditioned by phenotype and area of residence (degree of sun exposure). Overall survival is in 95% of cases at 5 years. There are countless clinical and histopathologic variants, but the most important outcome from the point of view are the definition of the edge of the tumor (clinical) and the same growth pattern (pathology). Both clinical and pathological features in the context of the patient are the pillars to choose the optimal treatment. We present in case of basal cell carcinoma in zygomatic region with wide resection and reconstruction with cervicofacial flap for the Service of Maxillofacial surgery in conjunction with surgical Oncology Service of «General Ignacio Zaragoza» ISSSTE Regional Hospital.
