Modern treatment of the bladder exstrophy: a case report

ABSTRACT
The treatment of the newborn with bladder exstrophy continues to be one of the most difficult challenges in the fields of urology and orthopedics, being an infrequent malformation that represents the most significant urological abnormality compatible with life. We report the case of a nine months old female patient diagnosed with bladder exstrophy and pubic symphysis diastasis who underwent multidisciplinary surgical management by closing the pubic symphysis and genital reconstruction.
