ABSTRACT

Scientific research is an indicator of the quality of the processes in the university environment, so it must be increased by virtue of the results of the work carried out by the researching professors and students. The aim of the present work is to carry out a bibliographic review to know the state of scientific research in the university context, particularly the Ecuadorian one. Sources of higher education and medical education, related to the subject, were consulted in electronic databases such as: Latindex, SciELO, Scopus, LILACS.
