ABSTRACT

Forty years since the foundation of "Finlay-Albarrán"Medical Faculty, it is necessary to evoke transcendental moments of the traces left by the ones who have been indispensable key participants since its creation; the professors who have left an everlasting legacy of a generation of professionals that have given their laudable deeds and dedication; this is the case of Dr. María Margarita Valdés–Dapena Vivanco, PhD in Medical Science, Full Professor, Consultant Professor of the Faculty, and Leading Professor of Microbiology and Parasitology. This semblance is aimed at reflecting her life history sustained by her testimony, a review of documents, interviews to some of her colleagues, and her own written work. It was possible to recognize her career as a student, doctor, professor, researcher, consultant; that is, as a woman whose greatest glory is linked to the services rendered to the Revolution.
