ABSTRACT

The purpose of this article is to identify the forms in which the generic differences of the teachers in the relationship and interaction they show towards their students in the school context are evidenced. The notion of gender has an enormous relevance in today’s linguistics and, simultaneously, represents a major challenge for the different theoretical approaches due to its intrinsically complex nature. Although within the different theoretical contexts the differentiation of the genres is object of reflection and discussion. Observation as a technique and the use of a catalog of generic differentiation carried out exprofeso for the registration of the interaction between teacherstudent allows to reach conclusions that enrich the disciplinary knowledge. The results analyzed from the univariate and bivariate statistics allow to account for the differences between the forms most used by teachers when interacting with their students as well as the existence of significant generic differentiation, particularly identified in the use of language. There are more positive attitudes towards girls than boys from a cultural perspective.
